Written, Directed, and produced by N. Linguswamy, Awaara is a 2010 romantic-action Telugu dubbed version of his Tamil film Paiyaa. Starring Karthi and Tamannaah in the lead with MilindSoman, Sonia Deepti, and Jagan appearing in supporting roles. Story:
The film revolves around two strangers’ journeys- Shiva, a jobless, carefree man living in Bangalore, and a woman he had fallen for- Charulata. Upon her request, he drives her first to the airport and then the station, respectively, after missing her flight and train. He requests Shiva to drive her to Mumbai, to which he gladly agrees. On their journey, Shiva learns about Charulatats background. It comes to light that Charulata ran away from her father, who was trying to force her into marrying someone against her wishes and wants to go live with her grandmother in Mumbai.
However, they both are followed, Charulatha is followed by a gang under the demands of her father’s business partner, and uncle Jayaraman and Shiva, too, is followed by a gang whose leader Balli he attacked a few years back. Their journey, escape, and growing feelings form the plot hereafter.
Awaara is a delightful road movie with great songs and mass elements. A journey of love, Awaara is an entertaining film with impeccable direction, editing, and camera work. The entire cast’s performances deserve to be lauded, and with strong dialogue delivery, Awaara is a treat to every critic. The music makes you groove; the on-screen chemistry is perfectly paced throughout the movie.
